Biography
Born in 1975 in Bucharest, Genu Berlo is an American artist of Romanian heritage. Since 2012 he has been practicing in his own artist studio in Bucharest, and occasionally New York City. His studies include fine arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, architecture and mathematics at the University of Bucharest. For over a decade he worked as design architect for NYC architectural firms, including Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. His work has been the subject of solo shows and group exhibitions at galleries including
palazzo Vimana, Palatul Brancovenesc Mogosoaia, Atelier030202, Galeriile Grumazescu, Galateca, Contempora and Orion, in Bucharest and other Romanian cities, and museums such as the Inbe Art Space Museum, Yoshinogawa, Japan,
Art Museum Casa Simian, Râmnicu Vâlcea,
Municipal Museum Regina Maria, Iași, National Museum of Maps in Bucharest or The Clock Museum Nicolae Simache, Ploiești.
